LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Students will learn how to use semi-professional video equipment and will be able to complete a short film project from concept to editing. 

CONTENT

Even though the recording and distribution of videos has become very easy today thanks to digital cameras and smartphones, there are many technical and creative aspects that characterize professional videos. The module provides an introduction to equipment, theory and editing software. The knowledge imparted is tested and implemented by the students in small groups and projects.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Curiosity, interest in producing your own videos. Module in English and German.

ASSESSED ASSIGNMENT(S)

Prerequisite is at least 80% attendance and active participation in the module, as well as implementation and documentation of an own project.

GRADING OF ASSESSED ASSIGNMENT(S)

Passing will be assessed according to the following criteria:
1. knowledge of equipment
2. sensible use of the editing software presented
3. conceptual and aesthetic quality of an own video project

RECORD

Students have learned how to use semi-professional video equipment. They know the most important formats for recording, editing and publishing and have received an introduction to video editing software.
