In our research groups, we combine scientific practices with methodological expertise and creative know-how from art practice and design.
Our competencies enable unusual approaches to the development of innovative design solutions and new perspectives on film and the arts. With a view to societal needs, we investigate the conditions of art production and reception in public spheres, develop future-oriented media formats for the mediation of visual content, experiment with new materials for sustainable textile production and demonstrate human-centred approaches to redesigning public organisational structures in the context of digital transformation.
In cooperation with our partner universities, we foster practice-based PhDs within the framework of the funding models of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Swiss National Science Foundation.
