About us

Founded in 1877 as the Lucerne School of Arts and Crafts, the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art today has more than 900 students benefiting from its strong expertise in research and development, making it one of Switzerland's leading providers of degree programmes in art, design, and film.

We deliver innovation and identify niches; we create images, narratives, products, strategies and processes that provide meaning and add cultural, economic and social value. Our workshops are practical and relevant; we have a high profile in the public sphere; we maintain cooperation with our external partners. Proud of our long-standing traditions, we move forward with confidence. Our roots are in Central Switzerland, yet we have a network at an international level.
