The background noise at the workplace not only impairs the ability to concentrate, but is also detrimental to health. Acoustically and visually calming workspaces reduces stress and thus makes a significant contribution to well-being.
Bachelor thesis, 2024 Student: Julia Stöckli On average, employees spend a third of their time at work. Over 50% of those surveyed in a study stated that they were affected by frequent acoustic distractions at work. Not only the acoustic but also the visual perception of the eyes contributes to spatial orientation - the eye ‘listens’. As visual stimuli with natural content can minimise states of stress and contribute to cognitive recovery, this bachelor's thesis translates structures from animate and inanimate nature into a design language for acoustic measures.
