The project uses history and memories as a starting point for the development of future uses for the Tenigerbad in Val Sumvitg in Graubünden, which has been vacant since the 1970s.
Bachelor thesis, 2023 Student: Davina Deplazes Based on a cultural-historical and architectural analysis of the former Tenigerbad - also known as ‘Bädli’ - the project develops history and stories into possible future uses. Since its final bankruptcy in 1976, the Tenigerbad has stood as an unused contemporary witness in the landscape of the Val Sumvitg side valley in Graubünden. Models show possible utilisation scenarios and spatial practices as well as reconstructed and new arrangements of rooms in the Tenigerbad and interpret its history: What did everyday life in the ‘Bädli’ look like? How was the drinking and bathing culture practised? What could the future ‘Bädli’ look like?
