In the third semester students acquire the basics of digital production, learn to use complex machinery – a digital cutter, a CNC lathe, a 3D printer for synthetics and ceramic, and a laser cutter – and practice production techniques by realising a specific project. We foster a critical and experimental approach to digital production techniques. Students accordingly research specific points in the digital production chain – from CAD through data processing to the machine and the material – and so gain an overview of conceptual and methodological possibilities and constraints.
