Incoming
We cordially invite students from other universities to spend a semester with us, in Central Switzerland. The second year of the Bachelor in Object Design is particularly suitable for hosting exchange students. Switzerland is a multicultural country with four official languages. Since Lucerne is located at the centre of the predominantly German-speaking part of the country, German is the prevailing language at the Lucerne School of Art and Design, and spoken as a Swiss dialect (if not written) in everyday life. Therefore, German skills – while not mandatory - are certainly an advantage. In the second year of study, we offer tutorials, presentations and software in English and provide guest students with English summaries of content held in German. Various modules (CAD, Contemplation & Critique) are taught completely in English.
Outgoing
Object Designers consider themselves as open-minded, cosmopolitan beings willing to look beyond national and disciplinary borders. Our second-year students are invited to spend a semester at another school in order to gain insight into product design from a different perspective and to exchange ideas in other parts of the world. The Lucerne School of Art and Design maintains a diverse network of renowned partner universities and institutions
