Creative solutions with depth
The City of Lucerne and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts have initiated an interdisciplinary project study with the aim of promoting the further development of the area with fresh ideas. In a first phase, students of the "Master of Science in Real Estate" course in real estate economics at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts dealt with urban planning, traffic and economic issues and developed ideas on how the area could be redesigned. In January 2020, the project teams presented their results to the City of Lucerne. "The ideas of the students are convincing because of their impressive creativity and depth in solving this urban planning task," says Beat Züsli, Mayor of Lucerne.
The conclusions drawn from the student projects are now being further investigated by the Real Estate Department of the City of Lucerne and will be forwarded to students of the Department of Engineering & Architecture of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts for a second project phase. The aim is to further develop the concepts that have been elaborated from an architectural perspective.
The MScRE is the highest degree in the real estate industry and is only offered in Switzerland at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Further information is available here or directly from Prof. Dr. Michael Trübestein.
