Effective research data management (RDM) is essential for good scientific practice. Every research project includes the generation, collection or compilation of data. This data must be handled with care throughout its lifecycle: from collection to analysis to sharing, archiving, and reuse.
This course explores the nuances of RDM, with particular emphasis on the work of ethics committees and issuing applications to them as well as anonymization and informed consent. You'll learn through lectures, field reports from other researchers, and discussions.
This course is one of two advanced modules on RDM. The other module focuses on quantitative data, thus complementing this course in terms of content. It is possible to attend both advanced modules. While the basic course in the spring semester provides a solid foundation for the advanced courses, completing it is not an admission requirement.
