The interdisciplinary focus area Data Worlds is committed to identifying innovative forms of data use in contexts that are as broadly diversified as possible and include different data types (visual, text, audio, etc.), value-adding strategies (data visualisation, analytics, storytelling, etc.), or application fields (healthcare, social security, marketing, art, etc.).
Social responsibility
Innovative data use offers enormous potential. At the same time, it raises an entirely new set of questions about data security, protection of the private sphere, ownership of personal and personalised data, among other things. Here, especially, Data Worlds intends to become a platform for addressing such legal, cultural and ethical issues.
