As part of the ongoing work on the VA-Pepr project, the Voice Matters installation was developed for the Digital Design Weekend as part of the London Design Festival at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
“Voice Matters” is a thought-provoking installation exploring the fascinating intersection of AI and human interaction. The installation delved into the power of AI to listen, (mis-) understand, and (mis-) interpret our everyday conversations. Participants were invited to reflect upon the extent to which our personal and private conversations can be comprehended and interpreted by the smart devices that surround us in everyday life. The installation features seven different screens with varied interactive components in an attempt to open the black box of artificial intelligence and machine learning. This project is funded by the Swiss National Foundation and was a collaboration between an interdisciplinary team of researchers led by HSLU School of Design, Film and Art. It is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Please see the VA Pepr project website for more information.
