The interdisciplinary area comprises the following elective and compulsory elective modules:
+Focus
In the +Focus modules, students can acquire and deepen practical skills related to the workshops and beyond. For the workshops, successful attendance of a corresponding module counts as a qualification for independent use. In addition, +Focus modules are credited with 3 ECTS points towards the elective area of the BA program..
+Reflect
+Reflect modules are elective modules on current issues and reflections on art, design, ecology, media, culture and philosophy. Reflecting means reading texts, looking at pictures and thinking about phenomena of culture, media, design, art and society. In the modules, questions are asked, orders and one‘s own positions are considered and discussed..
+Colabor
In the +Colabor modules, students work on specific topics and broaden their horizons in terms of design, methods and experience by exchanging ideas across disciplines. They are supported by an interdisciplinary, international team of lecturers.
Evening Lectures
The Evening Lectures are an attractive opportunity to traverse the history, present and future of design, film and art - thinking, listening and discussing. They are part of the interdisciplinary study program for BA students and are credited to the free elective area. They can also be attended as ISA modules across universities.
ISA
Together with the University of Lucerne and the Lucerne University of Teacher Education, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts offers interdisciplinary courses - the ISA Program. These inter- and transdisciplinary modules are open to students from all fields of study.The aim is to promote exchange between students and lecturers at Lucerne University and to encourage them to “think outside the box”.By attending interdisciplinary courses, students acquire additional skills and valuable knowledge that will enable them to collaborate with other disciplines in their future practice.
Language courses
The Language Center offers courses in eight foreign languages and in German as a foreign language. The language courses are free of charge for students and employees, but there is a charge for external students.
