Corippo, a small village in the middle of a horse-chestnut forest on the slopes of the Verzasca Valley, is a gem of Tessin alpine architecture. At the heart of the village lies the Osteria Corippo, a place people get together to enjoy specialities of the region. A renovation of the restaurant was planned for 2018, requiring new furniture. Inspired by traditional grotto furniture of stone, “La Tavolata” is a single unit comprising a table and two benches. This new design was manufactured from locally sourced horse-chestnut timber, and its simple lines blend perfectly with the Osteria’s aesthetic. “La Tavolata” brings people together over a glass of Merlot and a plate of Polenta.
