Location
In the 2019 autumn semester, all specialisations of the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art were united under one roof in the former viscose factory on the Viscosistadt estate in the North of Lucerne. To have the twelve bachelor’s and the eight master’s programmes side by side enables an inspiring exchange and fosters interdisciplinary work.
Studios
In the illustration studios, the focus lies on exchange, which is why face-to-face teaching is a top priority. The high-ceilinged rooms and large windows of our studios create an atmosphere that allows you to focus on your work and studies in a relaxed environment.
Workshops
In immediate proximity of these generous and light-flooded studios, there is a host of managed workshops catering to your study programme at your disposal, including classic printing techniques such as screen printing and letterpress printing, exploring traditional and experimental painting methods and innovative areas such as the media dock, virtual reality and 3D printing. After an introduction, students can develop their own ideas and realise them directly, with the workshop leaders on hand to provide help and advice.
Of course, Illustration Nonfiction students can also use all the other workshops of the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art such as the wood, metal, textile and printing workshops.
