Overview
Digital technologies are transforming various professions and job profiles. The rise of generative AI now will impact the creative economy, an area traditionally reliant on human creativity and authorship. A significant concern with this shift is the monopolization of essential resources (data, computing power, and expertise) by a handful of dominant actors and the loss of self-determination that comes with it.
The “Artificial Ideation” project delves into alternative methods of employing AI technology, emphasizing collaborative practices between humans and machines rather than merely replacing creative professionals. Three case studies assess the efficacy of text-to-image models in ideation, especially in illustration and game design domains. The insights from these studies are subsequently deliberated upon with computer scientists and industry stakeholders.
