Biography
Artem Sotnikov (*1987) obtained 2010 Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in Dnipropetrovsk National University in Ukraine. After finishing Master Program in the field of Solar Energy Engineering at Dalarna University of Applied Sciences in Sweden in 2011, he worked three years as a design engineer in a heat-mechanical department in consulting company “DneprVNIPIenergoprom” in Ukraine.
In 2014-2017 he participated in “Solar Heat Integration Network” (SHINE) research network supported by Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions. He did his research in Vela Solaris AG, Winterthur, Switzerland. His main responsibilities were further development of Polysun simulation software to extend it for simulations of district heating systems and thermal simulations in Polysun.
In 2016 he had an internship at Amstein+Walthert AG, Oerlikon, Switzerland. During the internship he has developed a computer interface between IDA ICE and Polysun in order to facilitate coupling of building simulation in IDA ICE and system simulation in Polysun.
Since 2017 Artem Sotnikov works as a research associate at the Institute of Building Technology and Energy, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. His main activities are thermal simulation of buildings and district heating networks.
