This specialisation is all about fostering and developing the students’ distinct compositional aesthetic. Highly renowned teachers help them to create innovative works unconstrained by convention. The programme provides in-depth analytical skills for contemporary music and extensive knowledge of compositional technique. Thanks to regular collaborations with artists and performers, students gain new perspectives on their own work. The Major in Composition is available in the Jazz and Classical profiles. Creating a cross-profile curriculum is possible as well, as is alternating between profiles.
