The Academy for Contemporary Music in Lucerne has provided a forum for intensive engagement with the music of our time since 2010. Students from Lucerne and around the world meet with renowned instructors and composers from all over the world for a shared dialogue in the form of individual lessons, masterclasses, chamber music, workshops, seminars, and concerts.
The instructors and lecturers are members of Europe's leading ensembles for new music as well as internationally sought-after soloists and educators. Together with the composers-in-residence (2025: Dieter Ammann, Sarah Nemtsov, Nadir Vassena, and Francesca Verunelli) and the participants, they explore the vibrant universe of contemporary music, make music together and engaging in lively discussions about the future of today's music.
In addition to the programs for instrumentalists and composers, the Academy recently initiated a specialized program for participants interested in the subject of expanded creation practices, an area that combines performance and composition.
