Analysing the surface of biomaterials

This thesis is about detailed familiarisation with digital microscopy and getting to know other powerful surface analysis tools. Surfaces of biomaterials, e.g. dental implants, are examined and characterised and reproducible surface analysis methods are developed.

Aim of the work:

  • Procurement of test materials for surface testing
  • Familiarisation up to ‘power user’ of digital, high-resolution microscopy
  • Identification, characterisation and measurement of surface structures
  • Integration of further surface analysis methods
  • Exciting insights into an ultra-modern analysis technique with wide industrial distribution
