The collaboration with enterprises and institutions is an important aspect of our range of practical study programs. The final assignments in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs mark an important step into an industry or into academia. But our students already get a chance to show their specialist, methodological and social skills in the preceding project modules. Tasks you may encounter in your day-to-day business are always welcome.

We will be happy to inform you about the requirements, types of module and specialist contacts so that your topic will be on the list of assignments our students can choose from at the start of the semester in February or September.

Types of bachelor`s modules

Bachelor`s Thesis

The Bachelor’s thesis is the final assignment in the last semester of the Bachelor’s program and marks the transition to a professional career. The thesis is an instance were students are particularly interested in exiting topics and collaborations with potential employers. They typically invest 360 hours throughout the semester.

Bachelor`s Project Modules

These modules, also known as industry projects, can be taken as early as halfway into the program and offer a first chance for students to engage with your practical topics. They spend between 90 and 180 hours working on the project.

The design for a solution was devised for a private client who required a specific type of airplane to be converted for patient transports (only in German).

Students explored how presentation venues should convey the desired signals and adapt to varied requirements for Kuhn Rikon in the Canton of Zurich (only in German).

For the municipality of Walchwil in the Canton of Zug, students developed several versions of a pedestrian bridge that will become part of the scenic route across the Sagenbach gorge (only in German).

For the firm privelop-spine AG in the Canton of Nidwalden, students studied the reinforcing effects of 3D-printed products on vertebral segments and compared them with a competing product (only in German).

Types of master`s module

Master`s Thesis

The Master’s thesis is the great finale of the degree program and marks the transition into a career in the industry or in academia. It examines a topic from applied research and development and our students typically invest between 630 and 900 hours.

Master`s Specialization Project

For the Master’s Specialization Project, the topic must be equally relevant for our experts’ applied research and development.
