PhD Programme Eco-Social Innovation by Design
In cooperation with our national and international partner universities and in the framework of the funding schemes offered by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, we support practice-based dissertations in the disciplines of Design, Film and Fine Arts. Together with the National Institute of Design (NID), we fund dissertations that focus on the topic of eco-social transformation from the perspectives of design and the arts in our PhD cooperation programme in ‘Eco-Social Innovation by Design’. In addition, the School of Design, Film and Art and the Lucerne Universities (Campus Luzern) offer a wide range of preparatory courses and programmes for Doctoral candidates.
The Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art (HSLU) offers the opportunity to pursue a doctorate in cooperation with its doctorate-granting partner universities. Doctoral candidates benefit from the guidance of a co-advisor at the HSLU. There is also a range of possible funding schemes. The doctorate will be awarded by the partner university.
In the PhD cooperation project between the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art and the National Institute of Design (NID), doctoral candidates conduct research in eco-social transformation in the framework of a bespoke, semi-structured programme.
The School of Design, Film and Art and the Lucerne Universities offer an attractive, supportive environment that promotes cross-disciplinary exchange and professional network-building to their doctoral candidates.
At Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art, around twenty doctoral students work on their practice-based dissertation projects in the fields of design, film, and art.
