Class differences based on unjust social and economic conditions have repeatedly played a role in art. In my contribution, I present three models of how the fight against such injustices has been tackled differently in art over the decades. Some strategies aimed to socialise art and abolish the boundary between artists and audiences. In other movements, artists primarily pursued their own interests and prioritised their working conditions. Based on these examples, we will discuss together how artists today can secure their existence and challenge injustices beyond art.
