The Foundation Course in Art and Design lasts one year for full-time students, two years for part-time students. Scroll down to learn more about it.
Two years, always from early August to early May. (No teaching takes place from early May to early August.)
Part-time students take part in the Foundation Course at least three days a week. Attendance every Monday is mandatory since new modules always begin on a Monday.
The precise study schedule for part-time students is discussed in early May then compiled in the summer break before the course begins. Part-time students may be permitted to attend certain weekly courses in full and accordingly drop others completely; and they must participate in one mid-October study trip, either in the first or the second year of their course.
See Programme details: Foundation Course in Art and Design: Schedule, Facts, Admissions Procedure.
Part-time students pay a reduced tuition fee per semester: CHF 503.– instead of CHF 803.– (However, there are four semesters to the part-time course, only two semesters to the full-time course.) Please note that additional fees may be due, depending on your home residence.
