Location & Infrastructure

In September 2016 we relocated to the new Viscosi campus in Emmenbrücke, which is just 5 minutes by train or 15 minutes by bike from Lucerne’s Hauptbahnhof (central station). The distinctive and spacious new location flooded with light offers modern infrastructure and urban flair in natural surroundings.

Our department is situated on two levels of the recently redeveloped 745 building on the Viscosi site.

Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art

The newly renovated building number 745 is located on the Viscose area, in proximity to the city, green areas and the river Reuss.

Infrastructure

The Video department provides students with modern, well-equipped spaces for study, including sound and image editing suites, brightly lit studios, an in-house cinema and a spacious (greenscreen) studio.

Our cutting rooms are bright (direct access to the terrace), large and equipped with the latest technology (editing software: AVID and Premiere Pro).

In the large sound production room (with speaker box), the internal productions are professionally mixed.

The in-house cinema can accommodate up to 80 students and is available for use by our students for screenings and visionings.

The group cutting station offers up to three individual workstations.
