For centuries people have been drawn to cities, to this locus of unlimited opportunities. But despite the diversity and urbanity of city dwelling, longings remain. The inspiration for this bachelor’s project is the collective yearnings of people for the metropolises, nature and utopia that have existed since the beginnings of urban development.
This collection, composed of bed linens and knitted plaids to match them, brings the individual aspects of these longings into the urban home. The combination of bedclothes and knitted plaid transports both visual and haptic elements that stimulate the senses and transposes the long-desired atmosphere into the bedroom. The duo is an alternative to other room decorations, intended to create a close proximity with the sought-for. With these textiles, our yearnings become close enough to touch.
