As designers, filmmakers and artists, adopting new perspectives is part of our DNA. Starting from the here and now, we direct our awareness outwards to the Other and to tomorrow. Our focus is shifting from human-centred to life-centred design. How do we design a world worth living in for all beings? We seek answers in new circular production processes, in walk-in data sculptures and in immersive stories that inspire people to act. In line with the concept of degrowth, we sometimes consciously choose to do nothing.
We use the disciplines of design, film and art to make key contributions to meeting the challenges of the present. As part of our Third Mission, it is our intention to take the notions of co-determination and participation beyond the boundaries of our institution. At the same time, we are aware that we have a challenging road ahead, and that our destination is forever moving away from us. For us, sustainability is a continuous process that calls for critical self-reflection and questioning of our own values. We are ready to face these challenges.
