As a place of education and research, the Lucerne School of Business bears great social responsibility. In our education and continuing education programmes, you will be able to build the key skills required to act and think with the future in mind. Through our services and research activities, we advance the development of a sustainable economy and society. We promote sustainable approaches and new initiatives while strengthening the ties between the contributing parties.

The 2030 Agenda as our goal

With its 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the United Nations have set out a vision for a more sustainable world. We are contributing to achieving these goals in varied ways. Specifically, we make substantial contributions towards achieving decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9) as well as health and well-being (SDG 3).

FabLab

Manufacturing personal items using cutting-edge computer-controlled technology is one of the HSLU’s aims. To this end, it has been contributing to the global FabLab network. In addition to providing services in-house, the FabLab Lucerne is open to everybody interested in using the machines or sharing their skills, knowledge and experience with developing innovative and sustainable products.

ZFV Cafeterias

Our cafeterias are run by the ZFV Cooperative of Enterprises. The cooperative’s declared goal is to go net-zero by 2050. It is tracking its progress with an annual greenhouse gas balance and has entered collaborations with myclimate and the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).

Sustainability Team

Sustainable development is a shared concern and actively supported by many at the Lucerne School of Business. Its many activities around the topic are coordinated by a dedicated sustainability team.
