Service projects include, for example, posters for the anniversary of Swiss women's right to vote, new and optimized resource use strategies for companies, ceramics made from recycled sanitary ceramics in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, various corporate designs, information graphics, new image worlds for the online presence, color concepts for buildings and artistic works.
The support provided by the School for commercial, cultural and administrative institutions takes the following three forms:
a) Call for competition entries
Your enquiry is formulated as a competition: it is advertised internally within the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art and forwarded to the relevant fields of study via email. Competitions should ideally be rewarded with appropriate monetary prizes, and entrants should be made aware at the beginning of how you intend to handle copyright.
b) Collaborative project related to the teaching
Working alongside the School, your enquiry is formulated as a design-oriented case study and integrated into the teaching. This approach allows for a longer-term, collaborative development of the theme and for supervision of the work by a lecturer, and it results in a sizeable number of proposed solutions. A longer lead time, however, must be allowed for to enable the project's integration into the teaching, and there can be no preconceived views as to its outcome. The School usually agrees a fixed fee (plus the cost of any materials) for the extra workload involved.
c) Regular service project
The service is provided by lecturers, researchers, students and alumni under customary commercial terms and conditions. Alternatively we are happy to involve former students. In the case of the Illustration Department, we list and describe these agencies in detail: see «alumni Illustration».
