Deep Tech Microcredentials Short courses on the Application of Artificial Intelligence

If you are looking for a brief and practical introduction to AI applications in Medical Science and Engineering, Data Science and Engineering, and Material Science and Engineering, these fully online, self-paced courses are perfect for you. The courses are funded by the EIT Deep Tech Talent initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and are available as part of a pilot project.

Methodology

The course combines concise video lectures, practical hands-on exercises, and an online assessment. Learning is self-paced with no individual support. An optional one-hour live feedback session with all participants is offered once during the course.

Target Group

Students enrolled at European universities with an interest in AI applications

Admission Requirements
  • Proof of enrollment at a European university
  • Proof of English proficiency at least of B2 level
  • No prior AI knowledge required
  • Basic familiarity with technology is beneficial
  • Elementary coding skills are helpful but not mandatory
Course Options

Participants may choose to enroll in one, two, or all three of the following courses:

  • AI Applications in Medical Science and Engineering
    Content Highlights: Deep learning for medical image analysis, clinical decision-making, telemedicine applications, patient recommendation systems, conversational systems, AI diagnostics.
  • AI Applications in Data Science and Engineering
    Content Highlights: Data processing with AI, predictive analytics, data-driven decision-making, pattern recognition, model evaluation.
  • AI Applications in Material Science and Engineering
    Content Highlights: AI-driven material property prediction, process optimization, quality control, and material defect analysis.
Registration

To register, please complete the registration form on the HSLU website during the registration period (2 April to 16 May 2025). You can select one, two, or all three courses and need to upload a proof of enrollment at a European university and a proof of English proficiency at B2 level or higher. Within two weeks after registration deadline, you will receive a confirmation email from the Warsaw School of Computer Science, including your access credentials to the Moodle platform.

Course Providers

Content Provider: HSLU developed all course content, including videos, exercises, and assessments, ensuring high-quality self-study materials. HSLU also facilitates registration and processes participant data.
Platform Host: Warsaw School of Computer Science hosts the courses on its Moodle platform, maintaining technical infrastructure and granting access to enrolled participants.
