Biografie
José A. Mancera works as an Applied data science researcher at Beekeeper AG in Zurich and a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Luzern (HSLU). He is also a Ph.D. candidate at the Human-Ist Institute in Artificial Intelligence in Fribourg. His research interests include recommender systems, fuzzy mathematics, explainable AI (XAI), and Generative AI training models.
Mr. Mancera earned an M.A. in Information Management and an M.Sc. in Computer Science at the University of Fribourg and the University of Bern, respectively, with magna cum laude (Honors).
He has a series of journal and articles publications at several international conferences in the fields of machine learning and computer science.
From 2016 to 2018, he worked as Senior Big Data Machine Learning Scientist at the Information System Research Group at the University of Fribourg.
In 2016, he worked as a Data Scientist at Schindler Aufzüge AG in the New Technologies department, researching machine learning, sensor networks, and big data. During this time, he patented an algorithm for proprietary technology.
In 2013, he worked as a research assistant at the Swiss Space Center at EPFL and collaborated in developing CDMS satellite software. While at EPFL, he also earned a minor in space technologies.
His working experience covers different industries: aerospace, fintech, robotics, social networks, and telecom. Other companies and public institutions have hired him, such as HSLU, Beekeeper AG, CreditGate24, Swiss Space Systems, ELCA Informatik, Nortel Networks, Huawei Technologies, and Televisa SA de CV in Mexico, USA, Canada, and Switzerland.
