Biografie
Jan-Christoph Zoels leitet seit 2021 die MA-Studiengänge in Design, Digital Ideation, Service Design und Eco-Social Design.
Jan-Christoph ist Mitbegründer und Creative Director von Experientia, einem Servicedesignstudio in Turin, Basel und Singapur. Er plädiert für eine strategische Integration von behavioral modeling, Design, Prototyping und iterativen Tests, um die Nachhaltigkeit von Produkten, Umgebungen und Dienstleistungen zu verbessern. Er wird weiterhin ausgewählte Kundenengagements bei Experientia leiten.
In seiner Designarbeit konzentrierte er sich auf die folgenden Industriesegmente: Gesundheit und Wohlbefinden, Finanzdienstleistungen, Konsumgüter, Energie, Architektur und Stadtplanung, öffentliche Dienstleistungen und e-Mobility. Zu seinen Kunden zählen 3M, Amgen, Asus, BAFU, BenQ, CVS Pharmacy, Deutsche Telekom, Design Singapore, Europäische Union, Fidelity, Intel, Intesa SanPaolo, ITC ILO, Nokia, Repower, Samsung, Sitra - Finnish Innovation Fund, Sony, Stellantis, Swisscom, Takeda, UNDP, Unicredit, Vodafone, etc.

Ursprünglich aus Deutschland kommend, lebte er viele Jahre in den USA, wo er an der Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) unterrichtete und als Senior Designer bei Sony und Director of Information Architecture bei Sapient tätig war. 2001 wurde er als Senior Associate Professor ans Interaction Design Institute Ivrea berufen, wo er Strategisches Interaktion und Service Design unterrichtete und die Workshops für Unternehmensinnovation namens Applied Dreams leitete.
Als Gastdozent lehrte er an der Jan Van Eyck Academy (Maastricht, Niederlande), Samsung’s Innovative Design Laboratory (Seoul, Korea), CIID (Kopenhagen, Dänemark), UGA Terry Business School (Athens, USA), Freie Universität Bozen, Politecnico di Milano und Domus Academy, Mailand.
Er war Programmdirektor der Interaction20 Konferenz in Mailand, Kurator von "Easy as a kiss. Vision, Geschichte und Wirkung des Intearction Design Institute Ivrea" und "Humanising Technology through Design" im Jahr 2021 in Turin. Jan-Christoph ist ein gefragter Redner auf Designkonferenzen, bei Firmenworkshops und an Hochschulen. Er hält vier Patente.

Jan-Christoph Zoels heads up the MA design programs in Design, Digital Ideation, Service Design and Eco-Social Design since March 2021.
He is a founding partner of Experientia, a service design studio in Turin, Basel and Singapore. He advocates a strategic integration of behavioral modeling, design, prototyping and iterative testing to improve the sustainability of products, environments and services. He will continue to lead select client engagements at Experientia.
In his design work he focused on the following industry segments: healthcare & wellbeing; financial services; consumer products; energy, architecture and urban planning; public services; e-mobility. Clients include 3M, Amgen, Asus, BAFU, BenQ, CVS Pharmacy, Deutsche Telekom, Design Singapore, European Union, Fidelity, Intel, Intesa SanPaolo, ITC ILO, Nokia, Repower, Samsung, Sitra - Finnish Innovation Fund, Sony, Stellantis, Swisscom, Takeda, UNDP, Unicredit, Vodafone, etc.

Originally from Germany, he lived for many years in the USA, where he taught at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and was a senior designer at Sony and director of information architecture at Sapient. In 2001 he joined Interaction Design Institute Ivrea as a senior associate professor, where he taught strategic interaction and service design and ran the business innovation workshops called Applied Dreams.
He has taught at Jan Van Eyck Academy (Maastricht, Netherlands), Samsung’s Innovative Design Laboratory (Seoul, Korea), CIID Copenhagen, UGA Terry Business School (USA), Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Politecnico di Milano, and Domus Academy, Milan.
He was program director of the Interaction20 conference in Milan, curator of „Easy as a kiss. Vision, story and impact of Intearction design Institute Ivrea“ and „Humanising Technology through Design“ in 2021 in Turin. Jan-Christoph is a frequent speaker at design conferences, company workshops and colleges. He holds four patents.
