Both in terms of concepts and content, you will learn to work at the intersection of material development, cross-platform narration, animation techniques, motion graphics and experimentation in film and fine arts. In the artistic field, we facilitate an in-depth investigation of “expanded cinema”, which includes your engaging with art, performance, theatre and spatial forms of film on urban screens.
You can choose between three different study paths:
- the Exploration path with its open, experimental, and artistic curriculum;
- the Production path, which revolves around the production of a short documentary; and
- the Concept path, in which you will develop a market-ready longer or serialised project.
You will work on a project of your own choosing throughout the programme. As a prospective graduate, you must be able to both learn and to develop a master’s project independently. Throughout the project, your lecturers will provide support as discussion partners, advisers and sounding boards.
You have the option to collaborate with external production companies and clients during the programme. Lateral entry is possible after an aptitude test. The programme consists of four semesters but is also available part-time.
