Catherine Irniger: Psychologist, Lucerne University of Teacher Education (PHLU)
Catherine Irniger is a psychologist and psychotherapist in advanced training at the Psychological Counseling Center Lucerne (PBLU). In addition to her work at the PBLU she works with adult outpatients specifically focusing on depression. She has several years of work experience as a PhD student in psychotherapy and healthcare research. In counseling sessions, it is important to her to support in an appreciative and authentic way. Her focus is on promoting psychological flexibility and value-based action so that personally meaningful aspects of life can be lived in the here and now, even under difficult circumstances.
Sibylle Matter: Psychologist, Psychological Counselling Centre Campus Lucerne (PBLU)
Sibylle Matter is a psychologist and psychotherapist, Head of the Psychological Counselling Center Campus Lucerne. Since September 2019, she provides psychological counseling to students on various topics relating to challenges at work and during their studies, mental health, relationships and personal development. After completing her PhD and a diploma of advanced studies in neuropsychology, she focused her education and professional activities on psychotherapy. She has been working as a psychologist and psychotherapist in hospital and private practice settings for 14 years. It is important to her to find solutions together and to discover and build up internal psychological resources.
Sylvan McGowan: Graduate Bachelor Design Management, International (BA DMI)
An international student from Canada, there completed education up to secondary school and engaged in pursuits ranging from diversity activism to technology, and the performing arts.
Now, as a student in Switzerland, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in design management in July 2024, and pursuing a master’s degree in digital ideation. With the goal of enriching global connections, advocating for student well-being, and pushing for inclusive community building.
Claudia Ramseier: Social Anthropologist and Communication Scientist, Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)
Claudia Ramseier is a social anthropologist and communication scientist with over 15 years of professional experience in university and research management, as well as teaching in the fields of design, film, and internationalisation. Her primary area of interest is the development of intercultural competence within organisational and educational contexts. Additionally, she serves as a reasearch officer at the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) in the department of interdisciplinary project funding.
Sandra Sommer: Head of International Office HSLU
Sandra Sommer has been working in international affairs at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts for over 10 years. She set up the exchange student section at the Lucerne School of Engineering & Architecture before taking over as Head of the International office at the university in 2020. A particular concern of hers is the "soft landing" of international students. To this end, she was the initiator of the Introductory Weeks for new internaitional students. She completed a Master's degree in Intercultural Communication and Leadership.
