What is a Diploma of Advanced Studies DAS?
Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) programmes are work-study continuing education programmes for which at least 30 ECTS worth of study is required. They take one to two years to complete, after which a diploma is awarded. Our DAS programmes are modular in design. Most of them can be paired with an additional CAS programme and a master’s module (master’s thesis) to earn a MAS (Master of Advanced Study) degree.
What is different between a DAS and a Certificate of Advanced Studies CAS?
A DAS equates to 30 ECTS credits and typically consists of two CAS programmes (each worth 10 ECTS) plus a final assignment.
Who can do a DAS programme?
A DAS work-study continuing education programme is for anyone wishing to further specialise and advance their career in their chosen field.
How are DAS certificates recognised?
The HSLU has institutional accreditation from the Federal Government. Generally, credits earned in the framework of an education or continuing education programme are recognised internationally within the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). We recommend you seek out detailed information.
What are the requirements for a DAS programme?
Participants need a university-level degree or equivalent. People without a university-level degree who have the relevant professional experience may apply to be admitted "sur dossier". Refer to the programme descriptions for details on the admission criteria or contact the head of programme.
Where can I find more information about DAS programmes?
You can find more information about the content, attendance times, self-study and the practice project in the programme descriptions or ask the relevant heads of programme. For more contact options, visit the advice website.
