Biography
Ramón Christen is a researcher in Data Analysis and Predictive Analytics respectively at Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts (HSLU). In that field, he analyses data from different sources and extracts key features from them. By means of artificial intelligent (AI) algorithms as well as basic statistical approaches he tries to find major impacts and to predict related time series.
He holds a Master degree in electrical engineering from HSLU with a strong focus in information technology. In his thesis at the iHomeLab he did research in non-intursive applieance load monitoring (NIALM) based on pattern recognition of key features from household device's current wave forms.
The interest in signal theory and data analytics started with his specification during his study. He earned a profound knowledge on that topic in his former position at ABB. In the R&D of gas insulated switchgears (GIS) he was responsible for the whole signal chain of non-conventional instrument transformers (NCIT) i.e. smart metering sensors.
