Infrastructure at the Institute of Architecture Learning with all senses

The design of living space requires the skillful use of materiality and sensuality. Learning at the Institute of Architecture is  therefore designed to take place through the authentic experience of engaging all the senses with different media and materials.

Architecture workshop

In the various workshops, students practice spatial-plastic thinking and perception with models up to a 1:1 scale. In addition to high-quality craft tools and an assortment of precision machines for working with wood and plastics, the range also includes a 3-axis CNC milling machine and a CO2 laser. A plaster room and a paint spraying room complete the infrastructure.

Atelier

The Studio is a central component in architectural education. As a social meeting place, students can learn, work and discuss together or individually at their own working place. Furthermore, lectures, project meetings, presentations and the public final critiques take place here.

Photo studio

In the professional Photo Studio, students are introduced to the theory and practice of communicating with images: Examination of image design, work with artificial backgrounds, daylight and artificial light, and also the accompanying introduction to photographic technology and image editing enable students to put their designs, models and ideas into the picture professionally and communicate them in a comprehensible way.
