Required work experience:
Twelve months of relevant full-time work In doing so, they gain twelve months of practical work experience before the start of the second year of study. This adds one year to the period of study, which is then four years.
Work placement: working in a company
After attending the technical training course in the first study year, students without professional experience in a relevant field must complete eleven months of work experience.
It is the students’ own responsibility to find a suitable work placement, be it in Switzerland or abroad. However, the HSLU’s “
Career Service” offers
support throughout the process.
Before the start of the work placement, a description of the practical activities must be submitted to the head of program for approval. At the end of the work placement, the employer must issue a certificate of employment containing a description of the student's tasks and a record of the hours worked. It must be presented to the senior assistant upon completion of the work placement.
