Predictive maintenance (PdM) is a promising technology in this area: based on sensor data and algorithms, malfunctions on machines can be predicted and targeted instructions for troubleshooting can be issued. In this way, operating costs can be reduced by 25 per cent annually, energy costs by 5 per cent and downtimes can be reduced.
In this project, the iHomeLab will develop new algorithms that will bring the following advantages: Cheaper sensors shall be able to be used and the system shall work independent from any manufacturer. Our focus is on wastewater pumps at wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Three WWTPs are participating in the research project and are contributing to the development of a needs-oriented product.
