The expertise of the research team at the Center of Excellence for Bioscience and Medical Engineering spans a broad range, from the development of functional medical devices and surgical instruments for ophthalmology to advancements in neurostimulation and data-driven models and technologies for cardiology, dental medicine, and reproductive medicine. We apply biomimetic principles to develop novel bioactive materials. Our focus is on biofunctional surfaces, interfaces with biological tissues, and structures that specifically stimulate and promote desired biological responses without the need for pharmacologically active ingredients.
