Important notices

Administrative Leave/ Absences

Authorized and unauthorized absences, unforeseen and foreseeable absences, and administrative leave are regulated by Study Regulations, Section VII, Art. 34, 35, 36.

Change or Premature End of Study Programme

Changing to another study programme or quitting a study programme before it ends is regulated by Study Regulations, Section VIII, Art.  37 and 38.

Workload

“Workload” means the total number of hours a student spends working: it therefore includes every task involved, from preparatory work to attendance at modules/ courses/ inductions, to independent study and research to internships / work placements, etc. Any written or practical work submitted for assessment, and proofs thereof, count towards the final number of ECTS Credits gained. One ECTS Credit equals 30 hours of work. Students must work for 1800 hours each year (= 60 ECTS Credits). This means they have to work 42.85 hours a week for 42 weeks in total.

Copyright, Patents and Inventions are regulated by Study Ordinances, Section VI (Intellectual Property), Art. 34.

Legi(Student ID Card)/HSLU-Card/Identification Card

A “Legi” (as in legitimation) is a Student ID Card. All students are given a “Legi” for the duration of their studies at the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art. The “Legi” entitles students to free or reduced admission to exhibitions, museums, concerts, etc. The administration fee for re-issue of a lost “Legi” is CHF 50.–.
