Foreign students
Students from countries with a visa requirement must apply for a national type “D” visa with the Swiss embassy or general consulate in their home country before travelling to Switzerland.
Irrespective of a visa requirement, all foreign students must have a residence permit.
Students from countries with a visa requirement must apply for the permit three months before entering the country. Among other things, they will be asked to provide evidence of sufficient funds. After admission has been granted, the Secretariat of the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art will send the necessary application forms to the student.
These requirements exist independently from the admission requirements of the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art but are necessary for the student to enter the country and begin studying.
