Biography
Andres Wanner is a Swiss-Canadian artist, interaction designer and educator with an interdisciplinary practice at the intersection of art, design and technology. He likes to tinker, invent and to play.
Currently a design research associate at HSLU University Lucerne, Switzerland, he has taught at art and design universities across Europe and North America and is affiliated as an Adjunct Professor with Simon Fraser University, Canada. With an MSc in Physics (University of Basel, 1996), an MAA in Visual Arts (Emily Carr University Vancouver, 2013) and a BA in Visual Communications (HGK Basel 2001), his interdisciplinary academic background is complemented by more than a decade of industry experience in interaction design.
His academic papers on Human Computer Interaction, Generative Art, Data Visualization and Robotics have been presented on renowned conferences (CHI, xCoAx, Computational Aesthetics) and his artistic work has been exhibited internationally in major exhibitions (SIGGRAPH, IDEAS, New Forms Festival, Re-new Festival, Artech, Hyperkult, interfiction, Expressive) and he has acted as the arts chair of the Computational Aesthetics conference 2011.
