Overview
Technical innovations opened new fields for timber construction but traditional planning processes and structures cannot keep pace with the increasing comlexity. The over-arching goal of the project leanWOOD is to streamline the design, construction and implementation of timber architecture. Processes, communication and cooperation structures have to be rethought. Coordination an information management are key aspects to new planning approaches. A new understanding of a «lean-culture» provides the bases for new value chain cooperation models.Thereby leanWOOD initiates an intensive dialogue of research and practice in order to create a new timber construction-oriented planning culture.
