Overview
The CIRRNET, the Critical Incident Reporting & Reacting NETwork, operated by the Swiss Patient Safety Foundation (SPS), is a supra-regional institution that already assumes a central network function for local error reporting systems of service providers in Switzerland.1 In the future, CIRRNET is intended to be a national reporting platform for critical events and establish it more broadly as a database and make a greater contribution to improving patient safety. In order to achieve this, the Federal Quality Commission (EQK) is commissioning a study which, firstly, is intended to provide a basis for decision-making for the further development of CIRRNET as a uniform national reporting platform for all types of service providers in accordance with Article 35 Para. 2 KVG and to present concrete implementation recommendations for further action . Secondly, the study should develop implementation measures on how feedback from the CIRRNET leads to more effective improvement measures among service providers.
