Overview
In Kukes, Swisscontact the Swiss Foundation for Technical Development Cooperation (Swisscontact) carries out the Perspektiva të reja (New perspectives) project. The project’s main objective is to reduce the number of people from Kukes County that are recruited into organised crime groups operating in the UK. It will do so through increasing the resilience and reducing the vulnerability of youth towards the influence and impact of serious and organised crime (SOC) while enabling them to adopt alternative pathways to SOC thanks to improved socio-economic conditions and an increased the trust and confidence of communities and the private sector in the local government. One of the project's components focusses the development of professional perspectives for young people in Kukes, Tropoja, and Dibra. As part of the "New Perspectives" project of , the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts trains local coaches who support young adults entering the world of work. The coaching process lasts 9-12 months. The trained coaches are members of local NGOs and the National Employment Services.
