Overview
Reservoir computers are randomized recurrent neural
networks with a trained readout layer. They excel at processing
sequential data such as time series forecasting and natural language
processing. Recently, quantum reservoir computers have been proposed,
where the classical reservoir is substituted with a quantum
substrate. Due to the random nature of reservoir computing,
quantum reservoir computers are one of the most promising
quantum machine learning tools in the noisy intermediate-scale
quantum era. The research covers the implementation of
both classical and quantum reservoir computers in the area of
financial time series forecasting, natural language based financial
forecasting and algorithmic trading.
