Overview
E-bike sharing systems are seen as an important instrument for achieving the transport transition. However, their effect on the demand for public transport is complex. On the one hand, e-bike sharing offers enable public transport customers to cover the first and last mile. On the other hand, public transport journeys can also be substituted, as e-bike journeys often have a shorter travel time. The project wants to show on which relations the systems complement or compete with each other. Measures for a better integration of the systems will be identified.
