Overview
Augmented Reality (AR) has been discussed as a promising tool for urban planning. Research suggests that AR can support communication between non-experts and specialists by providing better means to comprehend abstract representations of the urban space. Recently, the potential of AR was shown in participatory processes due to its interactivity, accessibility and comprehensibility.
AR in Urban Planning is set out to support the decision-making process during the initial stages of the planning process by visualising architectural models true to size in ways that support the stakeholders in their planning. Different visualisation and display methods that are to be in user studies as the planned models are put into an urban context.
