Overview
"herzfroh 2.0" is an international cooperation project between the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Switzerland) and the Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA) in Cologne (Germany). The addition "2.0" in the project title indicates that it is a revised version of the original material "herzfroh" from the Disability and Sexuality Centre (fabs) of Switzerland, which was dissolved in 2011.Herzfroh was formerly aimed at adults, the revised sexuality education materials are now, aimed at adolescents and young adults with learning difficulties as well as professionals in education and care. In the future, this revision will also be available in digitalized form for both target groups. By revising the existing sexuality education materials, the project aims to provide accessible, high-quality information on love, the body and sexuality. This should enable and strengthen equal health opportunities and the social participation of adolescents and young adults with learning difficulties. The benefit of the digital transformation is that technologies such as screen reading increase the accessibility of the materials for people with learning difficulties. This allows them to access the information independently of third parties or with support of a person of their choosing help. For education and care professionals, an educational handbook was designed, providing them with confidence in addressing sexuality-related aspects and tools for working with the target group in their day-to-day work while respecting boundaries. A data protection-compliant concept ensures the digital products respect the users privacy. herzfroh 2.0 aims to contribute to sexual self-determination, social participation and the protection of the sexual integrity of people with cognitive disabilities, as required by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD). herzfroh 2.0 is published with a country-specific version for Germany and Switzerland each.
