Overview
The framework of the research project is given by several unsolved challenges which have arisen while working in the first research project “Future Skiwear”. This was very successfully pioneering the introduction of warp knit technology for outerwear garments. Many open issues are not yet solved and are the topics for this research project; warp knit was identified as production technology indicating the potential to change the production chain of cut & sew remarkably for outerwear by reducing the number of pieces assembled in a product along with a different production process. This overall achievement of the last project leads to the first warp knitted ski jacket in 2016.The vision is to address topics such as durability testing, material and surface variety, design process optimization of warp knitting for outer sportswear and to amplify knit techniques with impact on the production chain.
